Accountant

Operating four residential care facilities, five multi service respite centres, a resource centre, CDC home care program, a registered training organisation with many other programs throughout Queensland, making AQ a well-established leader in the aged care sector.

We are currently looking for a qualified Accountant to join our growing team. The Finance Team provides all finance support to the Association, its customers and suppliers. The role will be based at Upper Mt Gravatt and will be involved in all aspects of financial operations.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Assist with review and evaluation of monthly financial reports including budgets and cash flow forecast
  • Internal Audit checks and data analysis of various programs
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of costed rosters
  • Assist with the financial processes for Residential Care and Community Programs
  • Assist with the development and review of the corporate financial policies and procedures
  • Support new business model for Community Programs in Qld and NSW

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles
  • Computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Analytical, with good problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable planning and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Enjoy working as part of team
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care industry (desired but not essential)
