Contracted positionFull/Part-time with flexible hours80% remuneration Located at Southport, on the Gold CoastRewarding role supporting youth and young adultsAn exciting opportunity exists for a General Practitioner, with a passion for Youth and Mental Health to join the team at headspace Southport.The role requires an experienced and well-credentialed General Practitioner (GP) whom is Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) certified.This job will consist of working with teenagers and young adults within the ages of 12 - 25. As part of this position it will require someone who can perform general and sexual health checks under the medical benefits scheme (MBS) as well as provide guidance and recommendations.In this role you will:provide a medical serviceidentifying service and capacity needsdiagnosing and recommending treatments to a variety of problems/ illnessesproviding educational materials to youthYou will need:Possession of a degree and have studied at medical school for at least 4 yearsMembership with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Experience with working children and youthEffective interpersonal SkillsDemonstrate the ability to identify and perform health checksOur medical centre has modern equipment and free underground parking for staff and patients. You will be accompanied by an experienced practitioner and staff, as well as in house Psychologists and Allied Health services. You will have access to a treatment room, fully computerised system and bulk billing. This role will work from the Townsville hub and the Cleveland Youth Detention Centre.About the serviceYouth Reintegration Services is an integrated, collaborative re-entry service aimed at supporting clients planning for release from youth detention centres, with their successful transition into the community. The service is provided both in-detention and in the community, post-release.
